The seriously luxurious cottages of Fraser, Grant and Chisholm are quietly nestled into the natural lie of the land, over looking the forest and the burn, but not each other. They are very private and benefit from this peaceful, unpolluted, stunning setting at the top of Glen Urquhart. Just enough away from the busy tourist routes for you to escape. But within easy reach of the rest of the Highlands of Scotland to make this a really perfect central base. You can be assured that you will not be disturbed by sirens or awakened by car alarms here.

Welcome to our rural idyll.
As the owners live nearby, and are around daily tending to their small working farm, a friendly family welcome awaits you. The cottages are individually named after local clans; Fraser cottage, Grant cottage and Chisholm cottage.
ALL the cottages are well built using local materials and stone, most sourced from this very croft, and as environmentally kind as possible. All are newly built but designed in the traditional style of the croft cottage of the area. They blend in so well with the environment they look like they've been here for a hundred years or more.
Each of the cottages has been painstakingly and carefully designed to cater for your every whim. They are truly luxurious, stylish, glamorous, sophisticated and yet still have that home from home feel, and much, much more!
A serious amount of care and attention to detail has been taken with all fittings, furnishings and decoration. Everything is new, constantly updated and of a high quality and specification. We pride ourselves on being meticulously clean, to the point of obsession even!

Fraser and Grant cottages are two bed roomed, with a double room and a twin room, accommodating four persons comfortably.
Chisholm cottage is a one double bed roomed cottage, accommodating two persons comfortably. There is a farmhouse dining table and chairs in the living area also, not shown on plan.
Outdoors
Each cottage has a private car parking area and garden over looking the forest and the burn, which runs along the bottom of the gardens. The burn is very shallow and is a great place for paddling and fishing with nets, ( children should be accompanied). All the gardens regularly have deer and many other types of wildlife visiting them. Each cottage has easy access, and is on one level, for wheelchair users.
Paths from the parking area to the cottages are lit, though we do advise a torch as it is extremely dark at night, (because of a lack of light pollution). Be warned though, star gazing is addictive around here! And of course it’s all so blissfully quiet too.
A barbecue is available at each cottage and all have either a decking or patio area with quality outdoor furniture. Excellent midge eating machines are nearby to keep those 'wee beasties' in check!
Utility
All the cottages have an entrance porch and utility area where a washer/tumble drier and freezer is situated, also irons and boards too, with tiled floors and shoe and coat racks.
Kitchen
Each cottage has a modern very well equipped kitchen with every conceivable utensil and cooking accessory required. Containing cookers with ceramic hob and grill, dish washers, microwaves, fridge with additional freezer compartment, kettles, toasters, coffee makers, glasses, beautiful Denby crockery and plentiful cookware.
Dining
Each cottage has a comfortable farmhouse table and matching chairs for some fine, romantic dining. As the cottages are open plan, in the living areas, you are able to chat with the chef as you sit by the fire and they cook.
Lounge
You will find beautiful solid oak floors throughout the living areas, and a luxurious large rug in the lounge area too. Wide screen TV with Satellite awaits you, along with iPod docking station, DVD, CD and video players, and in each of the living areas you will find a dresser stocked with a plentiful supply of games and books ~ in fact, you will be richly entertained! Wood burning stoves are simply a must for the Highlands and for romance; provided is a large basket of logs, with more on hand. And there are cosy and comfortable suites for you to sink into and relax, complete with cushions and throws.
On the walls around each cottage you will be able to study some work by local artists. Beautiful lamps and ornaments, along with good quality curtains and blinds will create the right ambience for a restful stay.
You will find a full size, quality sofa bed to each living area. (Bedding is supplied).
Each cottage is centrally heated throughout, with radiators and thermostatic controls in each room.
Bedroom(s)
Wonderful, comfortable beds and high quality new mattresses await you with beautiful quilts and throws, and excellent cotton bed linen. (All pillows and duvets are hypo-allergenic).
Drawers and fitted wardrobes to each room, including bedside tables and lamps. Hairdryers and mirrors.
Bathroom
The bathrooms are fitted to the highest standard with Italian tiled walls and Karndean floors, a fabulous spa bath and separate shower cubicle, (Fraser and Grant cottages). A full size shower over the double-ended bath, with screen in Chisholm cottage. Heated towel rails. Huge lit mirrors, (Fraser and Grant). All with ample co-ordinating cotton towels and mats.
Cotton bed linen and towels are included in the price.
If your stay is for two weeks or more clean bed linen and towels will be supplied, and the option of cleaning and linen change is available.
Utilities
Oil, gas, electric and wood (for stove) are all included in the price.
Very child & very baby friendly
As parents of a young family ourselves we know that travelling with children can be stressful to say the least; it's our aim to help alleviate any additional stresses and strains, well certainly in the luggage department anyway! Our range of child and baby equipment is all new, good quality and extremely clean and tidy. FREE of charge to use.
Cot (with bedding and towels), high chair, baby bouncing chair, fire guard, changing mat, monitor, steriliser, baby bath and mat, toys; large variety of cuddly, play and outdoor ~ to suit. Potty, books, toddler training seat, booster seat, plug safety covers, night light, monitor, wee plates, dishes and spoons...
Vetted, tried and tested babysitting service.
Although we are child and baby friendly, we add into each cottage all the equipment to suit, and to order. We take it away afterwards to ensure a clutter-free environment.
Welcome package
- There will be a package to welcome you to your cottage, inc. our own free range eggs, milk, bread and butter. Complimentary toiletries. There is also an 'essentials' pack to help you over those first few days, i.e. tea bags, coffee, loo rolls, washing up liquid, dish-washer tabs, etc.
- If you would like to shop online and place your order with Tesco; we'll happily take delivery for you and place it into your cottage, ready for your arrival.

We have endeavoured to provide for you a haven in the Highlands from which you will not want to leave! …however, if there is something that you would like specifically, i.e. a bouquet of flowers, champagne, chocolates etc…to be waiting for your loved one upon arrival, please don’t hesitate to contact us, we’ll do our very best to assist you in every way possible.
We regret we do not accept any pets, (except guide dogs).
There is a strict no smoking policy in each cottage.
